Infants (6 weeks- 14 months)
Our infant program is designed to provide an environment that is nurturing, predictable, and responsive. Caregiver work with parents to provide consistency for each child. Infants’ eating and sleeping schedules are individualized to fit their needs. A daily record of each infants’ activities is kept and includes feedings sleeping patterns, bowel movements, developmental milestones, and activities for that day. Each day infants will have individual time with their primary caregivers, time with other infants, and individual time for playing. Our infant room ration is one teacher per three infants with a maximum of six infants per day.

walkers and toddlers

2-year-olds • ratio 1:4

Our walkers and toddlers program provides an environment that is stimulating and comfortable. Young children are able to explore as they express their curiosity and independence.

Children will have an opportunity to engage in group and individual activities as well as teacher-directed and child-initiated activities. A daily record of each child’s activities is kept and includes feedings, sleeping patterns, bowel movements, developmental milestones, and activities for the day.

3 & 4-year-olds
The 3-and-4-year-old programs are designed to provide a nurturing environment that focuses on promoting positive self-esteem and teaching children to become more independent. Children have daily opportunities to manipulate, experiment, question, and communicate about the world around them. Teacher-directed activities are provided to guide learning, introduce new concepts, and model appropriate behavior. Learning centers are provided to allow children to engage in spontaneous and instructive play while providing instruction that is consistent with the developmental progression of each child. The ratio for this room is one teacher per 10 children with a maximum of 20 children per day.

preschool
3-year-olds • t/th 9-11:30 a.m.
4-year-olds • m/w/f 9-11:30 a.m. or 1-3:30 p.m.

Handprints' traditional preschool program will operate September through May (Tuesday following Labor Day to the Friday preceding Memorial Day). Preschoolers follow the same curriculum as the morning portion of the 3-year-old and 4-year-old full-day programs.
